Qantas Boeing 747 jumbo jets are to retire by 2021 as it orders more 787 Dreamliners. Qantas will retire the last of its six 747-400 by the end of 2020 as it increases its fleet of 787 Dreamliners to 14 the same year.
Dreamliner offers seating in Economy, Premium Economy and Business Class with more space. Other features include larger windows to create a greater sense of space, better air quality to help reduce jetlag and ride dampening technology to minimise the effect of turbulence. It is also quieter and more fuel efficient.
Two Dreamline routes have been announced so far. Melbourne to Los Angeles starting in December this year and Perth to London is already operating.
